The main line of the SG04 section of the Huangpu-Conghua Expressway has recently been connected.
The SG04 section represents the pilot part of the expressway. The project starts from Zhongluotan town in Baiyun district and passes through Xinlong town in Huangpu district in the south, with a total length of 4.7 kilometers.
The whole expressway spans 61.8 km and features six lanes in both directions, with a maximum speed of 100 km/h. It is being built in two phases.
The first phase, covering 39.6 km, starts from Taiping town in Conghua district and ends at Changling street in Huangpu district. It connects with the Guangzhou-Shantou Highway and is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic this year.
Starting from Hot Spring town in Conghua district, the second phase of the project is 22.2 km long. It passes through Jiangpu town and ends at Taiping town in Conghua district.
After the expressway opens a new north-south corridor will be built in the eastern part of Guangzhou. This will connect important areas in Huangpu, such as China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) and Guangzhou Science City.
In the future, it will take about half an hour to reach Huangpu Port from CSGKC via the expressway.
