Huangpu women, children's hospital to open later this year

Construction on the first phase of the Affiliated Women and Children's Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University has been completed, with the hospital expected to be put into operation in the second half of this year.

The hospital is located in the Changlingju area of Guangzhou's Huangpu district, adjacent to Changping Station of Metro Line 21. Containing 500 beds, the first phase of the hospital covers a construction area of about 76,000 square meters.

It is a high-level hospital integrating medical treatment, scientific research, teaching, illness prevention, and health care. It will be able to provide outpatient services, emergency treatment, and health care services for 550,000 people, as well as receive 30,000 inpatients per year.

It will be built into a regional medical center to provide services for women and children, while bolstering the area's medical resources to treat these groups.
