Huangpu's GBA National Base for Nanotechnology Innovation opens

Updated : 2022-07-06

The opening ceremony of the Guangdong-Hongkong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) National Base for Nanotechnology Innovation was held in Guangzhou's Huangpu district on July 1. The GBA Nano Industry Alliance was also officially founded at the event.

The nanotechnology innovation base is located in Guangzhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone (Yuzhu area), with a total construction area of 460,000 square meters. It is composed of three functional areas: a nanotechnology research and development core area, a pilot incubation area, as well as a living supporting area.

The base will be used as the R&D base of the GBA Research Innovation Institute for Nanotechnology, responsible for the R&D and incubation of nanotechnology. More than 2,000 nano scientific research engineers are expected to work here.

In recent years, Huangpu has focused on promoting the development of emerging industries like the nanotechnology industry.

The headquarters of the GBA Research Innovation Institute for Nanotechnology was built in Guangzhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone (Yuzhu area), while China Nano Valley is currently under construction, covering an area of 1.1 square kilometers in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City. The first special policy for the nanotechnology industry in China, "10 Nano Policies," has been issued by Huangpu to support industrial agglomeration, talent introduction, technology research and development, office spaces, as well as major promotion and exchange activities.
