Huangpu honors outstanding talents, craftsmen

An award ceremony was held in Guangzhou's Huangpu district on Nov 11 to honor local outstanding talents and craftsmen.

Chen Wei, chairman of Guangzhou CanSemi Technology, Zhu Fusheng, chairman of the Guangdong Communications and Networks Institute, Wen Xiaoguang, chairman of Overseas Pharmaceutical, Xie Qinglu, chairman of Melux Technology, and Zhang Bin, chairman of Aosong Electronics were among the recipients of the Outstanding Talent Awards.

Lin Xiaoqing, a senior technician at the Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard, Niu Shaowu, a senior engineer at the Guangzhou Haige Communications Group, Luo Zhongfu, a senior engineer at Kingfa Sci & Tech, Wu Wenfu, a senior expert at Winsun Bio, and Ma Zhaorong, a senior engineer at the Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute were among the recipients of the Huangpu Craftsmen Awards.

As of now, Huangpu has gathered 103 academicians, and 1,164 high-level talents. There are 29,864 university graduates for every 100,000 people in the district. Local talents have so far garnered 24 State Science and Technology Awards.
