Huangpu hosts Guangdong-HK-Macao biomedicine industry conference

The second Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Biomedicine and Biomedical Engineering Industry Conference was held in the Guangzhou Development District on April 9 and 10.

More than 1,500 experts, officials and association and enterprise representatives in the drug, medical equipment, health food and cosmetics sectors attended the conference. Frontier issues of the pharmaceutical and big health industries were discussed at the opening ceremony and in four summits and four sub-forums.

A total of 52 renowned experts and scholars from 30 institutions including the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Medical Products Administration were invited to deliver keynote speeches. They shared their thoughts and experiences on how to propel high-quality development of the pharmaceutical and big health industries from the perspectives of supervision, social organizations and enterprises.

The second Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Biomedicine and Biomedical Engineering Industry Conference takes place in GDD on April 9 and 10.

In addition, officials of the National Medical Products Administration and the Guangdong Medical Products Administration, prestigious experts and scholars, and representatives of leading enterprises also discussed the problems in the national pharmaceutical and medical equipment sectors at roundtable conferences and put forth their suggestions for industrial innovation and upgrading.  

The event was an annual grand gathering hosted by the GDD, the Guangdong Medical Products Administration and the Guangdong Food & Drug Technology Association for Evaluation & Certification to boost the development of the biomedicine industry, and to review laws, regulations and technologies in the drug and food sectors.
