Dance drama Tide of Era is staged at Guangzhou Opera House as an ode to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.

It offers a glimpse into China's development over the past 40 years (since the reform and opening-up process began) through the entrepreneurial stories of a father and a son in Huangpu during four periods: the 1990s, the early 2000s, now and the future.

Their personal fate is interwoven with the opportunities and challenges of different eras: from the hard start at the beginning of the reform and opening-up period, the rapid expansion of the 1990s, the global financial crisis of 2008, to the recovery and new development of the present.

In addition to the entrepreneurial wave that each era brings, the drama also spotlights the conceptual conflicts and emotional generation gap between father and son, and more importantly, what they have in common - a constant desire to succeed and confidence that they will do so.
