The Spring Festival flower market in Guangzhou's Huangpu district will be held both online and offline this year as a COVID-19 precaution.
Flower vendors can settle in the online flower market via a WeChat mini program for free, and purchases can be made via the platform from Feb 9 to 11.
Locals will also be able to find the best route to the offline flower markets at Huangpu Sports Center and the Qiulong Lake area of China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, which will feature themed floral installations and exhibition zones.
Huangpu will launch both online and offline Spring Festival flower markets this year.
In addition, a panoramic view of local flower markets will be available on the online platform, using virtual reality technology. To add some extra fun, the platform allows locals to take pictures of a "福" character they find in real life in exchange for red envelopes, or take selfies with an individualized background and give blessings to their relatives and friends.
