25 Huangpu medical institutions open for nucleic acid testing

There are now 25 medical institutions in Guangzhou's Huangpu district that are eligible to conduct nucleic acid tests.

Locals can make a reservation for the test online and the expense will be around 75 yuan ($11.6). It is suggested that patients do not have meals two hours before sample collection to avoid the risk of vomiting. Smoking, drinking alcohol or chewing gum is not allowed 30 minutes before sampling to avoid influencing the test results.

In addition, previous medical histories relating to nasal surgery, nasal septal deviation, blood diseases, throat diseases, or taking anticoagulants should be divulged to sample collectors beforehand.

Recognized across the country, the test result will come out within six hours for patients at fever clinics, 12 hours for patients at outpatient and emergency departments or hospitalized patients and their attendants, and 24 hours for ordinary residents.
