Guangzhou is soliciting bids for the preliminary research on the station complex of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area intercity railways' Guangzhou section.
The tender document reveals the latest route and stations of the Foshan-Guangzhou-Dongguan intercity railway (metro line 28).
Spanning 106.1 kilometers, the main route of metro line 28 starts in Foshan and advances eastwards to Guangzhou. After Xinzhou station, it will stop at Huangpu's Yuzhu before passing by Huangpu High-speed Railway and Xintang stations to reach Dongguan.
The 48-km feeder of metro line 28 will start from Xintang Station, pass through Gualyu New Area in Zengcheng district, and stretch further to Huizhou. The maximum speed of the eight-wagon metro will be 160 km per hour.
In addition to metro line 28, the Guangzhou-Shanwei, Guangzhou-Zhuhai (Macao), and Guangzhou-Shenzhen rail lines will also pass through Yuzhu. In the future, Shanwei, Zhuhai, and Shenzhen will be reachable from Huangpu in one hour.
