Huangpu district starts to offer free nucleic acid testing of the COVID-19 phase by phase for teaching staff members, as well as junior and high school graduating students from April 21.

Guangzhou's Huangpu district has started to offer free nucleic acid testing of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) phase by phase for teaching staff members, as well as junior and high school graduating students from April 21, involving about 13,000 people.

The whole testing will be finished by April 23 and results will come out before April 27, when 10,255 junior and high school graduating students, as well as more than 2,700 teaching staff members will return to campus.

Students and teaching staff members should show their health codes when entering the campus. They will also have to go through a body temperature check by both AR thermometers and temperature guns, as well as wash and sanitize their hands.

"My daughter will graduate from junior high school this year and we hope she can go back to school as early as possible. We feel more relieved after the test," said a mother surnamed Luo.

Special charter bus lines will be opened to offer safer transportation for students and their parents.

A total of 86 sets of administrative platforms for the prevention and control of COVID-19 have been purchased by the district for 35 local high schools.

The platforms, which make full use of high technologies like artificial intelligence, infrared temperature measurement, and augmented reality technology, are able to carry out body temperature checks for 50 to 100 people within 6 meters and are able to automatically catch snapshot recognition of 30 faces of people entering the campus.

At present, 22 companies have donated more than 20 batches of medical supplies, covering 36 kinds of supplies, for local education systems.
