Guangzhou's Huangpu district was recently the first in China to launch a new service model of allowing 10 local post offices handle government affairs, bringing more convenience to local residents.
The new model has made full use of the advantages of post offices in areas, such as being open seven days a week.
People can call +86-20-96185 and press 2 to make reservations and fill in the required materials. Special staff members of China Post will come to their doors within one hour after they make the call.
The staff members will finish the preliminary check of the submitted materials and then send them to relevant departments for further processing. The result of the examination and approval will be mailed to the applicant.
Currently, the 10 local postal offices can handle 93 personal affairs, such as social insurance and employment, as well as 437 business affairs like company management.
Smart machines for handling government affairs have been applied at the Huangpu postal office and the Yuzhu Street postal office, which integrate functions spanning blockchain, remote video, and facial recognition, allowing people to make online consultations to 1,304 affairs and make applications to 824 affairs.
