Guangzhou's first batch of 29 charted coaches arrived at Lyuzhou Plaza in Huangpu district on March 23 after picking up over 540 workers from Hubei province.
All of the workers are employed at 39 companies in Guangzhou and are from 12 low epidemic risk areas in Hubei province including Jingmen, Enshi, Jingzhou, Qianjiang, Tianmen, Xiaogan, and Yichang.
Each of these workers received a gift package that included masks and disinfectants provided by local companies like Guangzhou Xiangxue Pharmaceutical Co Ltd and Liby Group.
Guangzhou Duoyi Network Technology Co Ltd and Honghai Human Resources Group have signed cooperation contracts with the China Federation of Industry and Commerce on March 6 to arrange charted coaches to help workers in Hubei to resume work.
It is expected that more companies and social organizations will participate in helping local companies in dealing with shortages in their labor forces.
Honghai Human Resources Group has purchased more than 6,000 masks, over 90 protective clothing, over 20 forehead thermometers, as well as food to make full preparation for the whole journey between Hubei and Guangzhou.
A total of 28 medical staff members were sent by the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University to board these coaches and to carry out measures for COVID-19 epidemic control and prevention.
