Three new terminal stations were put into operation in Huangpu district in 2019.
All 10 of Huangpu district's major projects to improve people's livelihoods in 2019 were completed on schedule by the end of December 2019.
The projects mostly concerned problems in areas such as education, transportation, public security, and water environment treatment were also included.
Six public elementary schools were opened in the district, surpassing the designated number by two. Four primary schools, including Fenghuanghu Primary School, were renovated or expanded. Ten kindergartens were also set up, six more than the designated number.
A total of 8,910 student places for primary and middle schools were created as were 3,930 kindergarten vacancies.
Huangpu's per capita subsidy standard for basic public health services was increased from 60 yuan ($8.61) to 65 yuan. The district conducted 8,744 cervical cancer screenings and 8,819 breast cancer screenings for local women, over fulfilling the project which had set a target of 8,500 for each.
Efforts have also been made to push forward water environment treatment and air pollution control.
In order to make local public transportation more convenient, three bus lines were opened and 34 lines were improved. Three new terminal stations began operations.
Thirty-seven smart machines for handling government affairs were installed around the district, allowing locals to process their affairs in business registration, social security, employment, talent introduction, provident funding and real estate registration at nearby machines.
