Hechi advances tourism with landmark conference

The 5th Hechi Tourism Development Conference was held in Donglan county on Dec 19. Centered on summarizing achievements in cultural and tourism development and planning future directions, the conference aims to promote the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry.

It has attracted many experts and enterprise representatives from the cultural and tourism industry to participate, focusing on demonstrating the new achievements of local cultural and tourism integration.

Hechi is uniquely rich in cultural and tourism assets, presenting three core charms: gorgeous and diverse ethnic cultures that are highly distinctive, boasting 13 national-level intangible cultural heritages such as the Liu Sanjie ballads, and the Bronze Drum Culture (Hechi) Ecological Protection Zone, which is the only national-level cultural ecological reserve in Guangxi.

The ecologically pleasant health resort is fascinating, relying on a superior ecological environment and karst wonders, with more than 20 high-quality tourist routes and 39 national 4A-level scenic spots built; the profound red homeland has a rich heritage.

As the hinterland of the Youjiang Revolutionary Base, it has developed 5 national red tourism classic scenic spots, allowing the red gene to be passed down from generation to generation.

In recent years, Hechi has kept in mind the entrustment of green development and has striven to build an international longevity and health tourism resort. The number of tourists received and total tourism consumption in 2025 are expected to grow significantly.

During the event, several cooperation agreements were signed, and the thematic activity "Travel Hechi with Xu Xiake" – a renowned Chinese geographer and travel writer of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) – was launched. The participating guests also gained a deep understanding of the effectiveness of Hechi's cultural and tourism innovation and development by inspecting red tourist routes and visiting intangible cultural heritage achievement exhibitions.
