Hechi highway projects recognized as national rural vitalization innovation cases

Two highway routes in Hechi, the Dahua-Bama section of National Highway G355 and the Kangzhuang Road of the Guangxi Regional Highway No 303 were selected as outstanding national projects supporting rural vitalization.

The upgraded Dahua section of National Highway G355 now sees heavy traffic. Since 2022, Dahua's highway maintenance center has collaborated with Dangui village, Guhe town, and Dahua Yao autonomous county to work on a red dream road project.

This project focuses on local cultural heritage and red culture to promote cultural development. It connects with the expressway from Hezhou to Bama, which has benefited over 33,000 people and connected six modern agricultural farming industrial parks.

The Kangzhuang Road project has engaged with the local community, contributing approximately 427,000 yuan ($61,000) worth of materials and equipment to hardening nearby village roads and promoting the culture of the Maonan ethnic group.

The project has also actively promoted intangible cultural heritage. Maonan's original dances and songs have been performed overseas, including in Germany, Thailand, the United States, and Australia.

The completion of this project has facilitated rapid transformation and lifted over 20,000 Maonan people out of poverty, bringing a better life to the community.
