In the past decade, Hechi has made historic achievements in the construction of transportation infrastructure, with the accumulated investment exceeding 145 billion yuan ($20 billion), which has helped propel the city's economic and social development.
The arch-truss of the Tian'e Longtan Super Bridge's main bridge achieved closure in June, which marked the completion of the whole line of the Nandan-Tian'e Expressway and ended the history of Tian'e county having no expressway.
Tracks have also started to be laid across the whole line of the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway. Among the work, the steel structure grid of Hechi Station has been hoisted, becoming the first station building project on the whole line to start the hoisting of its steel structure grid. The Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic in 2023.
At Hechi Jinchengjiang Airport, the Guangzhou-Hechi-Mianyang route opened in July. It was the first route to connect Hechi with domestic first-tier cities, central cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and international aviation hub cities. It also ended the airport's history of operating only regional flights.
In the past decade, Hechi started construction on 16 expressways, spanning 1,576 kilometers, with a total investment of 155.5 billion yuan. About 1,800 km of 48 national and provincial road network projects were upgraded, while about 12,250 km of rural roads were built or rebuilt.
