Since the beginning of this year, Baxu Yao township in Nandan county has built the Happy Yao Township Pastoral Complex to boost rural vitalization efforts.
Happy Yao Township Pastoral Complex is composed of five gardens, two belts, and one center. The five gardens are the rural vitalization industrial park, the Yao township cattle recycling industry demonstration park, the 1,000-mu (66.7-hectare) characteristic fruit garden, the 1,000-mu ecological camellia garden, and the 1,000-mu sugarcane plantation. The two belts are the red sorghum industry demonstration belt and the Yao township cultural tourism belt, while the one center is the model center for poverty alleviation and resettlement projects.
Lajie Community was established in October 2019. It has 21 villager groups and 5,945 people. It is the largest ex-situ poverty alleviation and resettlement area in the township. It is home to eight ethnic groups, including the Yao, Zhuang, Han, Miao, and Maonan, among which the Yao ethnic group accounts for 78 percent of its population.
The township has made full use of the poverty alleviation industrial park, attracting more than 200 people for employment.
In addition, the township also introduces advanced technology to develop its planting industry and its rural tourism sector.
