Exhibits from Guangxi appear in 2018 Shenzhen ICIF
The opening ceremony for the 14th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair was held in Shenzhen on May 10. Huang Kunming, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the ceremony and visited Guangxi pavilion.
While at the pavilion, Huang was presented with a Zhuang brocade (a signature handicraft of the Zhuang people in Guangxi) by a local Zhuang girl. Huang admired the pavilion and its exhibits as Fan Xiaoli, head of the region's publicity department, acted as his guide.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. To honor the occasion, Guangxi pavilion was decorated with unique Zhuang cultural elements, including an emblem commemorating the 60th anniversary of its founding, its mascot, and the rock paintings carved in the Hua Shan Mountain caves.
Visitors from home and abroad admired the dazzling array of exhibits, including Liu inkstone (from Liuzhou city), wood sculptures and rattan plaited articles, and sampled books from Guangxi Normal University Press Group. Visitors were particularly impressed by masks and bamboo hats made by people of the Maonan ethnic group.
Fan Xiaoli visited OCT-Loft, Global Digital Creations, and the headquarters of Tencent with exhibitors. She also attended the signing ceremony for nine projects with a total contract value of 1.02 billion yuan ($160.65 million).
