During the 2024 United Nations (UN) Chinese Language Day in Vienna, the Guilin World-Class Tourism City Promotion Conference was held on May 7, 2024.
Guilin showcased its advantages as a world-class tourism city and a historical and cultural city in China, highlighting its picturesque landscapes, rich history, cultural essence, and ethnic characteristics.
The focus was on presenting Guilin's historical and cultural heritage such as Guilin stone carvings and the Lingqu Canal, along with its natural landscapes like the Lijiang River, Longji Rice Terraces, and Yulong River. Additionally, Guilin displayed stone carvings of famous poets from various historical periods, as well as fine art pieces.
The delegation from Guilin introduced the city's poetic and picturesque natural landscapes and the measures taken to develop it into a world-class tourism city, to the people of Austria through a promotional video. The diverse and multi-faceted tourism products of Guilin garnered much attention and appreciation from the audience.
The delegation also prepared numerous gifts and showcased the latest tourism routes tailored for Austrian tourists. Classic Guilin products such as rubbings of Wangfu Blessing Inscriptions, stone carvings from the Guhai Steles Forest, Qiu Guangchu's fans, and products from the Guihua Commune were presented to visitors.
