The Lingui High-Tech Industrial Zone has been approved for establishment by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. With the overall goal of creating the core area of a world-class tourist city in Guilin, the area is developing high-quality productivity and promoting the transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure.
From January to October 2023, Lingui district achieved a total industrial output value of 23.54 billion yuan ($3.27 billion), an increase of 4.5 percent over the same period last year, exceeding the city's average growth rate by 1.2 percent.
The industrial development positioning of the Lingui High-Tech Zone aims to connect with the industrial system of the zone, forming a high-tech industrial agglomeration area with intelligent manufacturing, new materials, and the health industry as the leading industries, as well as related development in digital technology, environmental protection industries, and modern service industries such as trade, finance, comprehensive services, and real estate.
