Guangxi's foreign trade earns 222b yuan in 1st 4 months
In the first four months of the year, the foreign trade handled by Guangxi generated 222.58 billion yuan ($32 billion), representing a year-on-year growth of 57.2 percent.
That performance was 51.4 percentage points ahead of national average in the same period.

During the period, Guangxi's general trade imports and exports reached 90.89 billion yuan, up 43.7 percent year-on-year.
Of that, imports and exports of bonded logistics, border small trade and border residents' mutual trade in Guangxi came in at 59.77 billion yuan, 25.22 billion yuan and 13.33 billion yuan, respectively. That translated to year-on-year growth of 117.1 percent, 110.9 percent and 423.2 percent, respectively.
The value of Guangxi's imports and exports to ASEAN doubled and its imports and exports to the Arab League and African countries both increased by over 40 percent. In the first four months, Guangxi's imports and exports to ASEAN soared to 104.91 billion yuan, up 123 percent year-on-year.
Of that Guangxi's imports and exports to Vietnam and Thailand increased by 139 percent and 196.1 percent, respectively. Its imports and exports to Arab League and African countries reached 16.07 billion yuan and 11.1 billion yuan, respectively, up 41 percent and 42.1 percent year-on-year.
"At present, Guangxi's industrial production situation is good, with related industries' imports and exports playing an obvious role in driving the rapid growth of foreign trade," said a manager at Nanning Customs.
During the same period, the imports and exports for Guangxi's equipment manufacturing industry and consumer goods manufacturing industry, respectively reached 87.17 billion yuan and 27.7 billion yuan, up 63.2 percent and 89.6 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, Guangxi's imports and exports to other RCEP member states reached 119.21 billion yuan, up a whopping 107.9 percent year-on-year.
