From March 12 to 19, more than 40 members of the Guangxi economic and trade delegation traveled to Japan and South Korea to visit nearly 20 key enterprises, which resulted in 22 signed investment agreements along with three procurement cooperation orders.

During the visit, the Guangxi delegation visited six institutions and business associations, including the Chinese Embassy in Japan, the Chinese Embassy in South Korea and the Japan External Trade Organization.

The Guangxi economic and trade delegation invited local government departments, industrial enterprises, investment institutions, channel partners and business associations to participate in several promotion meetings. This includes one for the open parks in Guangxi and another on medical cosmetology cooperation between Guangxi and South Korea.

During the visit, Guangxi signed a sister city exchange intention contract and two cooperation agreements with Japan and South Korea, resulting in 31 cooperation deals, with the contract value of nearly 5 billion yuan ($730 million).

Among them, Nanfang Black Sesame Group reached cooperation intentions with six Japanese and South Korea enterprises. Pingguo Jintong Investment Group and Japan Obayashi Metal signed a 3-billion-yuan purchase intention contract for recycled aluminum.

Guangxi maintains friendly ties with 12 cities in Japan and South Korea. After the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), Guangxi has more frequent interactions with Japan and South Korea in terms of trade and investment. In 2022, Guangxi's trade with both countries reached $1.18 billion in import volume, and $2.04 billion in export volume.
