Jingui Pulp and Paper in the Qinzhou Port area of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) has been awarded the title of "Water Efficiency Leader" for its excellent performance in water efficiency.

"Our pulp paper adopts a clean production process, our production water is reused, and our cooling water is recycled. All of this saves water and reduces the consumption of raw materials," said the relevant person in charge of Guangxi Jingui Pulp and Paper.  

This company's white paper production workshop has designed a perfect water recovery system, while its paper machine drying department now discharges clean condensate water back into the power workshop for reuse. The company's slurry preparation workshop has a wastewater recovery device, a wastewater recycling system, and a clarified water reuse system, so as to reduce water consumption, ensuring that the company's water reuse rate reaches more than 94 percent.

Since 2015, the amount of utilized water in the enterprise has been decreasing, and the total amount of actual utilized water has decreased year by year. The enterprise has made remarkable achievements in water saving.

In recent years, the Qinzhou Port area of the Guanxi FTZ has adhered to the "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" initiative, and has promoted the construction of the PetroChina, Huayi, Hengyi, Zhongwei, and Jingui projects, all of which have an investment exceeding 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion), to establish a green harbor industry.
