The Guangxi delegation, with more than 40 people, began its journey to visit Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) on March 12.

This is the largest outbound delegation for economic and trade cooperation with Japan and the ROK to have been organized by Guangxi after the implementation of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). It is also the first delegation from Guangxi to conduct economic and trade cooperation with Japan and the ROK since the outbreak of COVID-19.

The Guangxi delegation will visit the Chinese Embassy in Japan, the Chinese Embassy in the ROK, the Japan International Trade Promotion Agency, and the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade.

It will conduct project investigations and cooperate in electronic information, high-end manufacturing, precision equipment, biomedicine, automobile, and healthy food.

The Commerce Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region will select 22 companies from Japan and the ROK to cooperate with Guangxi enterprises.

Japan and the ROK have maintained relationships with 12 cities in Guangxi. After the RCEP came into effect, Guangxi has had more frequent interactions with Japan and the ROK in trade and investment. In 2022, Guangxi's foreign trade imports and exports with Japan reached $1.18 billion, and those with South Korea reached $2.04 billion.
