More than 100,000 TEUs transported through Guangxi trade corridor
As of Feb 21, the sea-rail combined freight trains on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in Guangxi had carried 102,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2023, up 8.01 percent year-on-year.
Thanks to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the trade corridor has facilitated the integration of international goods, people, capital, and information. It has injected new impetus into the dual circulation of domestic and foreign markets, as well as ensured the stability of global industrial and supply chains.
Through the trade corridor, Southeast Asian products like Singapore nickel ore, durian from Thailand, glutinous rice from Laos, and Basa fish from Vietnam can enter the Chinese market more quickly. Agricultural and sideline products from Gansu province, dried fruits from Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, wolfberries from Ningxia Hui autonomous region, and auto parts from Sichuan province are also exported to ASEAN in large quantities.
Up to now, the trade corridor has been connected to 17 provinces and autonomous regions, covering 393 ports in 119 countries and regions around the world.
