2 Qinzhou designated as 2022 Guangxi high-tech enterprises
The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Department of Science and Technology recently released its list of top 100 high-tech enterprises in Guangxi in 2022, which included two companies in the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), namely Guangxi Jingui Pulp and Paper, as well as the Qinzhou branch of the State Development & Investment Corporation (SDIC).
Guangxi Jingui Pulp and Paper was established in 2003 and is part of Asia Pulp and Paper (APP), a leading global player in the production of a broad range of tissue, packaging, and paper products. It is a national high-tech enterprise, a national green factory, and a national forestry key leading enterprise. In 2022, the company produced 2.39 million metric tons of white card paper, up 79 percent year-on-year, and had a total output value of 11.9 billion yuan ($1.76 billion), up 39 percent year-on-year.
The Qinzhou branch of SDIC has the largest installed capacity thermal power plant in Guangxi, providing electricity and heat for enterprises in the Qinzhou Port area of the Guangxi FTZ. The company has a total installed capacity of 3.26 million kilowatts, with a total power generation of 14.12 billion kilowatt-hours, with an annual output value of 6.55 billion yuan.
By the end of 2022, the Qinzhou Port area of the Guangxi FTZ had 47 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, 48 high-tech enterprises, 12 innovation platforms above the autonomous region level, and two national incubators.
