From January to November 2021, the cargo throughput and container throughput of Beibu Gulf Port ranked among the top 10 coastal ports in China and its growth rate of container throughput ranked first.

In 2021, the overall customs clearance time for imports and exports at Qinzhou Port was reduced by 29.1 percent and 23.3 percent respectively compared with 2020 and exports achieved customs clearance in half an hour.

In 2021, Qinzhou Port opened five new sea-rail intermodal trains to achieve a normal connection with the China-Europe trains, covering 13 provinces, 47 cities, and 91 stations. In 2021, 6,000 trains were operated, climbing 30 percent, ranking first in China.

Before the early 1990s, Qinzhou Port was just a small fishing village. Starting from two 10,000-metric-ton-level wharves, the port was built independently and integrated with the public wharf assets of Beihai and Fangchenggang to form the Beibu Gulf Port.

As an important node of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Qinzhou Port has continuously improved its port capacity, realizing the berthing of 300,000-ton oil tankers and the one-way navigation of 200,000-ton container ships, making it become one of the ports with the largest handling capacity in China.
