Chongzuo area of Guangxi FTZ develops new industries
The Chongzuo area of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) is the most convenient land route from China to ASEAN countries, and is an important hub of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. By making use of the advantages of its location and the Guangxi FTZ 's policies, the Chongzuo area of the Guangxi FTZ has developed new industries like cross-border e-commerce, market procurement, as well as bonded maintenance.
The Chongzuo cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone was established in 2020. It has attracted 20 cross-border e-commerce companies, of which 10 are currently operating.
From January to November this year, there were 385,000 inbound and outbound trucks at the Friendship Pass in Pingxiang, a county-level city in Chongzuo, a year-on-year increase of 24.14 percent. The import and export cargo volume was 4,171,200 metric tons, a year-on-year increase of 39.51 percent, while the import and export value was 311.46 billion yuan ($48.94 billion), a year-on-year increase of 45.57 percent. Of the import and export cargo volume, the Chongzuo cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone had 9,601.8 tons of cross-border e-commerce import and export goods, with a value of 1.885 billion yuan, completing 188.5 percent of the annual task.
Chongzuo also provides market procurement service platforms for companies. There are 32 suppliers, 26 foreign trade agents, and 75 purchasers that have registered on the platform.
From January to October, the logistics value of Pingxiang Integrated Free Trade Zone was 85.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 56.10 percent.
