Coated board production line makes first paper in Qinzhou
A coated board production line (PM2) with an annual output of 1.8 million metric tons of high-end cardboard from Asia Pulp and Paper Group's (APP) Guangxi Jingui Pulp and Paper's (GJPP) Qinzhou mill in China produced its first roll of paper on Dec 8.
PM2 belongs to Valmet, a renowned pulp and paper equipment supplier in Finland. Three OptiFlo Fourdrinier headboxes, the OptiFormer Multi forming section and the OptiPress Linear press section produce high-quality baseboards, while four OptiCoat Jet blade coating stations ensure high-quality coating.
PM2 produces paper with a width of 8.1 meters, a speed of 1,450 meters per minute, and an annual production capacity of 900,000 tons. Construction began in 2020 and it began operating a year later.
After the first paper machine begins production, GJPP is expected to have an output value of more than 10 billion yuan ($1.57 billion) in 2022 and pay 1 billion yuan taxes.
GJPP was formally established in 2003 and is a part of APP-China. The total annual production volume of APP's mills has now reached 11 million tons.
Today, APP-China is delivering quality products to meet the growing global demand for tissue, packaging and paper. GJPP employs more than 1,500 people.
