A press conference on the second group of autonomous region-level system innovation achievements in China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) was held on Nov 30.

Diao Weihong, a deputy director of the Commerce Department in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said that Guangxi FTZ focuses on innovation and seeks to replicate and promote its innovation achievements, including its reform pilot experience and best practice cases.

Nanning customs is simplifying customs clearance procedures, optimizing services, and creating a strong business environment which is beneficial to building a cross-border industrial chain.

The Nanning area of Guangxi FTZ is focusing on construction project approval, taxation facilitation, and diversified credit information applications.

The Qinzhou port area of Guangxi FTZ, meanwhile, is carrying out reforms in leading industries, with a focus on high-quality development, industrial services and industrial innovation.

The Chongzuo area of Guangxi FTZ is promoting cross-border trade and logistics upgrades, innovating regulatory models, and improving the cross-border currency transfer mechanism between China and Vietnam.

As of September 2021, Guangxi has completed 95 percent of its 120 pilot reform tasks. It is replicating and promoting its 48 institutional innovation achievements, 13 of which are national firsts.

Guangxi FTZ is exploring new ways to promote economic development along the border and new mechanisms for opening up and cooperating with ASEAN. Guangxi transformed 17 government functions and had 10 reform pilot experiences and seven best practice cases.
