The Chongzuo area of China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) is developing rapidly, and plans to build a cross-border industrial, supply and value chain.

From January to September 2021, Pingxiang's foreign trade imports and exports totaled 121.17 billion yuan ($19.02 billion), ranking first in Guangxi FTZ and accounting for 27.3 percent of the zone's total.

Chongzuo is focusing on the construction of a large platform to aid in development and opening up along the border, and is also carrying out reform and innovation. The smart park of Guangxi Pingxiang Comprehensive Bonded Zone has a big screen which displays customs clearance information, including entry and exit trends, customs clearance analysis, and economic indicators.

Youyiguan port uses the advance and two-step declaration and the vehicle intelligent dispatching system, which are highly convenient for people.

Through reform and innovation, the customs clearance time has been reduced, and the travel time for entry and exit checkpoints has been reduced 80 percent, from five minutes to 30 seconds.

The Chongzuo area of Guangxi FTZ has also opened more than 20 cross-border logistics highway routes to more than 20 cities in ASEAN countries and opened 13 cross-border railway train operation routes reaching Nanning, Changsha, Zhengzhou and Chongqing.

Chongzuo will make use of its geographical advantages along the border, use domestic and international resources to promote cross-border flow and agglomeration, and seek to become an important domestic and international dual-cycle hub.
