Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang integration speeds up

Construction of major projects for the integrated development of Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang has gained great momentum, local media outlets reported on Nov 15.

A total planned investment of 16.4 billion yuan ($2.57 billion) for 60 major projects in seven fields will be completed in 2021. Up to now, 22.1 billion yuan has been invested, accounting for 134 percent of the annual investment target. 

Eight projects are currently ahead of the annual construction target.

The Beibu Gulf Port has completed an investment of 8.2 billion yuan for 50 major port and shipping projects so far this year, accounting for 82 percent of the annual investment plan, which stood at 10 billion yuan. At present, five projects have been completed and three of them are under construction.

By the end of September this year, a total of 4,505 freight trains have operated on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, up 42 percent year on year, and the Beibu Gulf Port completed a container throughput of 4.19 million twenty-foot equivalent units, which is a year-on-year increase of 19.11 percent. 

The construction of leading projects in the harbor industrial cluster, which is located in the three cities, was accelerated in September. From January to August this year, the revenue of eight industrial clusters including equipment manufacturing, biomedicine and health reached 343.55 billion yuan in the three cities, which is an increase of 45 percent year on year.
