Qinzhou Port experiences rapid development in past 5 years

Qinzhou Port in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region ranked 47th among the top 100 large container ports around the world according to the latest report released by Lloyd's List, local media outlets reported on Oct 8.
Lloyd's List is one of the world's leading sources of news, analysis and data for the shipping industry and this report marks the first time that Qinzhou Port has entered the world's top 50.
Qinzhou Port, which mainly handles the transportation of containers and petrochemical products, has seen rapid growth thanks to the accelerated development of port industries in Qinzhou.
The city has introduced port industrial projects with a total investment of more than 250 billion yuan ($38.8 billion) in the past five years.
The handling capacity of the port reached 136 million metric tons in 2020, up 14.4 percent year on year while the figure for containers stood at 3.95 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU), up 31 percent year on year.
