Meng Zhaopeng, 58 years old, is professor and vice president of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He is a project leader of National Key Research and Development Project, deputy chair of CBE Professional Committee of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, chairman of Tianjin Computer Federation, and editor of Computer Education. 

His areas of interest include internet of things software and systems, smart transportation systems, and smart Chinese medicine pharmaceutical system.

Meng has led and participated in over 20 projects under National Science and Technology Major Project, National Key Technology Support Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Tianjin Natural Science Foundation of China and Tianjin Science and Technology Major Project, and projects entrusted by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as well as three education reform projects. He is a chief expert leading a National Key Research and Development Project "Product Adaptive Online Design Tech Platform". 

He has received the first and second prizes of Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award and Tianjin Municipal Teaching Achievement Award. 

He has also published over 70 papers with Chinese or global journals including Knowledge-based Systems, Journal of Systems and Software, Pattern Recognition, International Journal of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering, Journal of Software, Journal of Tsinghua University and Chinese Journal of Basic Medicine in Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as on global academic conferences including AAAI, NeurlPS, IJCAI, ECAI and VAST. He has been granted 6 national invention patents.
