Ban Xiaojuan is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Computer and Communication Engineering of the University of Science & Technology Beijing, a New Century Excellent University Talent honored by the Ministry of Education, Party delegate to the 11th and 12th Party Congresses of Beijing, executive director of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and director of the professional committee of intelligent medical care, as well as a member of the standing committee of the Human Computer Interaction of China Computer Federation.

Ban has been engaged in research into artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction and 3D visualization. She led national key research for the 13th Five-year Plan and has done a great deal of national and provincial scientific research such as a project of the National Natural Science Fund and an exploration project of the General Armament Department. Ban has published three professional books and translated another. She owns more than 10 national invention patents and over 20 software copyrights.
