To promote Yangshuo's cultural and tourism offerings on the global stage, Yulong village in Baisha town hosted a one-of-a-kind New Year celebration on Dec 31, 2024 with participation of 12 overseas influencers and students, contributing to the international outreach of the region's offerings.

The tourists, hailing from the United States, Cambodia, Thailand, Morocco, Somalia, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Laos, were captivated by the local festive vibes the minute they entered the village.

They learned the procedures of cooking kumquat cuisine and experienced the thrill of bamboo rafts, embarking on a poetic cultural journey that created lasting memories.

The group was also introduced to traditional Chinese arts such as shan'ge, or mountain song, a genre of folk songs resonating with the spirit of the mountains, and Gui Opera, a traditional opera form with roots tracing back 200 years ago to Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

As evening approached, the visitors gathered with local residents over tea, embracing the tranquil and relaxed local way of life. This enjoyable gathering included the collective singing of popular songs, bridging cultural divides, and fostering a heartwarming exchange of traditions and experiences.
