2024 China-ASEAN Marathon set to kick off in November
The 2024 China-ASEAN Marathon is set to take place on the morning of Nov 24 in the Beibu Gulf Marine Culture Park in Fangchenggang. This year's marathon continues under the World Athletics category, expecting around 20,000 participants in four competitive events: a full marathon, half marathon, 10-kilometer fitness run, and 5-km fun run.
The marathon route has been upgraded, aiming to enhance comfort and the overall experience over last year's course. The full marathon will be relocated to the city center, offering flatter terrain compared to previous editions. The course is expected to connect key landmarks and scenic spots in Fangchenggang, showcasing the city's rich history and beautiful coastal landscapes.
The event will include multiple categories for both men and women, including local and ASEAN nationality awards. Since its inception in 2017, the marathon has garnered accolades such as “Most Beautiful Course” and various label awards from the Chinese Athletics Association.
The 2024 marathon is part of Fangchenggang's ongoing efforts to promote sports exchanges with ASEAN countries, fostering friendship and collaboration in the region.
