Foreign visitors flock to experience Yangshuo's unique charm
The implementation of China's 144-hour visa-free transit policy has significantly enhanced the accessibility of China for foreign tourists. According to statistical data, the volume of inbound tourists in Yangshuo county, Guilin, escalated by more than sevenfold in the first half of this year in comparison to the same period last year.
Yangshuo is renowned for its clear waters and magnificent mountains, and the best way to appreciate Yangshuo is by taking a bamboo raft ride, drifting downstream, and enjoying the picturesque scenery along the Lijiang River. The bamboo raft slowly moves forward on the rippling river surface as if immersed in a series of flowing landscape paintings.
Yangshuo stands as a world-renowned destination for rock climbing, drawing in numerous travelers and outdoor sports enthusiasts with its distinctive karst topography and breathtaking natural scenery. Foreign visitors to Yangshuo often partake in rock climbing to experience the unique allure of karst landscapes. In addition, a variety of activities such as hiking, cycling, paragliding, and hot air ballooning are highly favored by tourists.
As night falls, various bars, cafes, and night market stalls open one after another, providing tourists with a wide range of nightlife options. Many foreign tourists enjoy tasting local delicacies, watching entertainment performances, and experiencing the infinite charm of the night market.
Additionally, international students come to China for study tours during their summer vacations, not only to broaden their horizons but also to learn Mandarin and understand Chinese traditions.
In the face of this wave of tourism boom, Yangshuo is adjusting and enhancing its infrastructure and accommodations to better accommodate visitors. The continuous improvement of tourism facilities and implementation of various support measures have greatly enhanced the overall tourist experience. Data indicates that between January to June this year, Yangshuo received 149,900 inbound tourists, a year-on-year increase of 709.69 percent.
