Guangxi athletes to shine at Paris 2024 Olympic Games
The sports bureau of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has sent five athletes to represent China in the current Olympics. Nong Sanfeng is competing in women's water polo, while Zou Wanhao and Lu Feng are competing in men's freestyle wrestling in the 57 kilograms and 74 kg weight classes, respectively. Cao Liguo is participating in men's Greco-Roman wrestling (60 kg), and Lan Xingyu is serving as a reserve member of the men's gymnastics team.
According to the schedule, Nong is scheduled to be the first athlete to compete. The Chinese women's water polo team's first group match is against Australia at 2:05 am Beijing time on July 28. Cao is poised to compete first among the three wrestlers, with the men's Greco-Roman 60 kg 1/8 finals starting at 9:00 pm on August 5.
Zou's match is on Aug 8, with the men's freestyle 57 kg 1/8 finals taking place at 5:30 pm on the same day. Lu from Nanning is expected to compete on Aug 9, participating in the men's freestyle 74 kg 1/8 finals at 5:30 pm.
In addition to these athletes, several other athletes from Guangxi are also noteworthy: Luo Zongshi (representing Hunan province), Shi Zhiyong (representing Zhejiang province), Yan Haibin (representing Guangdong province), and Ou Yushan (representing Guangdong province).
