Guangxi's agricultural industry development boosts rural vitalization
Guangxi has developed a modern characteristic industrial system known as "10+3+N," centered around six major agricultural industries with annual output values of over 100 billion yuan ($13.8 billion), ensuring an ample supply of vegetables and fruits.
The region has accelerated the construction of standardized production bases, optimized production capacity structures, and enhanced the overall production capacity and quality of its "vegetable basket" agricultural products.
In 2023, Guangxi saw a 5.2 percent year-on-year increase in the output of pork, beef, mutton, and poultry meat production, alongside an annual output of vegetables exceeding 44 million metric tons. This positions Guangxi as an important base for "west-to-east" and "south-to-north" vegetable transportation in China.
Furthermore, Guangxi has implemented a fruit quality improvement project, focusing on the development of citrus, mango, and other fruit industries, achieving year-round availability of seasonal fruits.
Last year, the fruit planting area in Guangxi exceeded 20 million mu (1.33 million hectares), with a yield of over 32 million tons, ranking first in the country for six consecutive years. Guangxi has also established the China-ASEAN Fruit Trading Center, becoming a major hub for fruit imports and exports with ASEAN countries.
The dynamic growth of Guangxi's characteristic agricultural industries not only meets both domestic and international market demands but also significantly boosts farmers' income growth and enhances rural vitalization efforts.
