10th Longji Terrace Intl Cultural Tourism Festival kicks off
The 10th Longji Terrace International Cultural Tourism Festival in Longsheng county of Guilin city, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, opened on April 10.
On this land, where the Miao, Yao, Dong, Zhuang, and Han ethnic groups gather, dress in festive costumes and celebrate the arrival of the festival with visitors. There were performances of the dragon dance, Miao ethnic custom show, Yao and Zhuang ethnic song and dance performances.
A tourist from Australia praised her trip to Longsheng. She said that the festival was a grand ethnic gathering. The villages, costumes, and culture here are very different from those of Australia, which has been a great surprise for her.
The festival is a cultural brand of Longsheng and has been held for nine sessions. It mainly includes the opening ceremony art performance, ethnic sports competitions, the "Sanyuesan" gourmet competition, the national unity parade, sports events, the red song chorus competition, and nine other activities.
Throughout the year, a diverse array of ethnic minority festive activities are set to be organized to reinforce the brand of "the county of a hundred festivals."
As a large-scale cultural and tourism event in the county, the festival continues to increase its attractiveness and influence. In 2023, the county received over 10 million visitors for the first time, achieving a total tourism consumption of 12.6 billion yuan ($1.7 billion).
