Ministry spokesperson shares video highlighting poverty alleviation efforts of Hechi
On March 18, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying retweeted a video on poverty alleviation efforts in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on the social media platform X.
In a remote village in Hechi, a retired policeman from Luxembourg, Hansen Nico Rene, embarked on a personal journey to help locals shake off poverty. He made a significant contribution to the community.
As Hua said, "He didn't just observe China's poverty eradication; he rolled up his sleeves and joined in. Individuals like him made possible transformations that other nations might take decades to achieve."
In December 2022, leveraging the opening of the 13th Guangxi (Hechi) Garden and Horticulture Expo, Hechi took the lead among China's western city clusters by establishing accounts on platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube under the name "Discover Hechi," inviting everyone to be a part of Hechi's journey.
Hechi seeks to introduce the world to the unique cultural characteristics and stunning landscapes of the city through a range of platforms. By presenting diverse perspectives on its stories, it offers global audience a deep understanding of the city's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. This effort further enhances Hechi's status as the "World Longevity City and the Cultural City of Sanjie," serving as a worldwide calling card.
