Guilin delegation shares ecological achievements at UNEA-6
From Feb 26 to March 1, Chen Liang, Party chief and director of the Department of Ecology and Environment of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, led a delegation to visit the United Nations Environment Programme.
On Feb 28, Chen was invited to attend the sixth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6) hosted by China as the president of the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the convention on biological diversity.
During the meeting, Chen shared the practical experience of ecological environment, biodiversity protection, and green sustainable development in the water ecology of the Lijiang River in Guilin. He emphasized the historical culture, biodiversity, and environmental protection efforts of the Lijiang River and introduced the achievements of the Chinese government in the ecological protection of the river.
During the thematic meeting, Guilin showcased the Lijiang River landscape and culture to representatives from various countries attending UNEA-6 through three-dimensional display boards, promotional brochures, and cultural and creative products.
This visit is a specific measure for Guangxi to showcase the achievements of ecological environment protection of the Lijiang River on the international stage, and it is also a particular action for Guilin to build a world-class tourist city.
