Guangxi deepens sports cooperation with ASEAN

The Guangxi Sailing and Windsurfing Sports Association has formed a team consisting of sailors from four countries of China, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines, to compete in the 2023 Belt and Road International Sailing Race Malaysia Station, which commenced on Jan 16 at the waters off Langkawi, Malaysia.
The event is a collaborative effort by the Sports Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the people's government of Beihai, and the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club of Malaysia. With a global appeal, the overseas race has garnered participation from 32 teams and over 240 sailors from various parts of the world.
In recent years, Guangxi has actively engaged in cultural and sports exchanges with ASEAN countries, deepening mutual exchanges and cooperation in sports.
A representative of the Guangxi Sailing and Windsurfing Sports Association noted that in the future, the Belt and Road International Sailing Race would expand its overseas collaborations, gradually adding race stations in ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam.
