Guangxi will further support Guilin Tourism University to carry out cooperation with Cambodia's tourism department in higher education.

Ban Huaqin, deputy director of the Department of Culture and Tourism in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, made the remarks on Dec 23. Ban added that Guangxi will explore cooperation opportunities with Cambodia to build the Cambodia Tourism Institute.

From Dec 22 to 23, the 2022 Tourism Vocational Skills Training Course hosted by Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism was held online, gathering more than 60 representatives from 25 provinces in Cambodia for centralized learning.

At the closing ceremony of the training course, Ban said that Guangxi has been attaching great importance to friendly relations with Cambodia and has maintained good exchanges and cooperation with Cambodia's tourism department.

Liu Yingchun, Party secretary of Guilin Tourism University, introduced that the training has set up special courses such as scenic area standards and standard systems, scenic area service quality system construction, and boutique homestay operation and management. These courses aim to strengthen China-Cambodia tourism exchanges and mutual learning, as well as welcome new tourism opportunities in the post-pandemic era.
