The matchmaking fair promoting agricultural and sideline products from Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region was held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province on Sept 25, attracting more than 60 large-scale purchasers from Guangdong to attend the event.
The event, held by the Commerce Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Hechi municipal government, promoted distinctive and high-quality agricultural products from Hechi through activities such as an on-site exhibition and live streaming promotions.
Nine Hechi companies have signed paired agreements with nine Shenzhen companies with a total contract value of 166 million yuan ($25.68 million).
Hechi enjoys splendid natural scenery and abundant natural resources. The mulberry field in the city has reached 930,000 mu (62,000 hectares), ranking top among all municipal cities in China. Hechi's production volume of mulberry cocoons accounts for 20 percent of the world's total.
The city's walnut field now stands at 2.6 million mu, being the largest walnut plantation base in South China.
A road show promoting more than 300 kinds of Hechi's agricultural products such as wild camellia oil, tea leaves and rice was also held on the same day in a Wal-Mart in Shenzhen.
It is expected to expand the sales channels for Hechi's products by virtue of the Shenzhen market to further enhance the coordinated consumption development between Shenzhen and Guangxi as well as boost rural revitalization.
