More than 80 projects with a total investment of more than 206.6 billion yuan ($32 billion) were launched at a conference in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Sunday, as the region attracted more than 200 foreign and domestic key enterprises, together with business associations, to boost cooperation and development.
More than half of the investments came from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, while others came from the Yangtze River Delta, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and overseas enterprises, including Vietnam and Germany. They are expected to boost the region's key industries in 14 districts and cities.
At the conference, a group of 52 nationally prominent business associations signed strategic cooperation agreements with regions at different levels and industrial parks in Guangxi, covering industries such as digital economy, high-end equipment, high-end furniture and home furnishing, biomedicine and advanced new materials.
Lan Tianli, chairman of the region said Guangxi is striving to build an open platform for enterprises and boost industrial revitalization by accelerating the development of modern industrial systems. He added that it will also develop modern agriculture with distinctive features to realize rural revitalization.
