World Jasmine Conference takes place in Nanning

The 3rd World Jasmine Conference, which is also part of the 18th China-ASEAN Expo, commenced in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Sept 12.
Zhao Liangping, vice chairman of the China Flower Association, said that the conference is vital for showcasing China's jasmine flower industrial outcomes, expanding communication and cooperation as well as turning the industry into one with global influence.
"The flower industry is significant in implementing the rural revitalization strategy and we will take an active part in cultivating new business forms in the industry," Zhao added.
Xu Jin, deputy head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said that Guangxi has unique natural resources and its flower industry has long enjoyed a reputation countrywide. The region has now turned the flower industry into a key component in developing the local economy, promoting rural revitalization and moving forward ecological civilization construction.
Xu added that Guangxi will develop clusters for the jasmine flower industry and accelerate brand building to further increase the quality and competitiveness of the industry.
Overseas guests such as Paul Audan, mayor of Greoux-les-Bains, France, delivered video speeches during the conference and expressed the hope of strengthening cooperation with Guangxi to boost the development of the flower industry.
