The first online promotion fair for the 18th China-ASEAN Expo was held recently with Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), officials from the CAEXPO Secretariat announced on May 8.
More than 150 Malaysian companies participated in the fair.
Issues of concern such as the processes of attending on-site exhibitions in Nanning, registration for the online exhibition, cross-border financial services and the inspection and quarantine standards of Malaysian companies' export products were discussed during the meeting, and representatives of Malaysian companies have expressed strong willingness to attend the 18th CAEXPO.
Zeng Zhong, deputy secretary-general of the CAEXPO Secretariat, said during the event that the 18th CAEXPO will continue to combine on-site exhibitions with online events, so as to allow professional audiences from all over the world to participate.
Zeng added that a series of investment promotion fairs will be held during this year's expo to help Malaysian companies seek more development opportunities in the global market and carry out more economic and trade cooperation with China.
Sharimahton Mat Saleh, deputy chief executive officer of MATRADE, said that more Malaysian companies will be encouraged to take an active part in the CAEXPO to boost exports and local economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.
