Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is scheduled to build 20 general airports by 2030, forming an aviation network that covers the whole region, officials from the Transport Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region said on April 19.
It is expected that, by then, short-distance services taking less than one hour between any two destinations in the region will be available.
The region will build or renovate 21 general airports in Guangxi, including sites in Baise's Leye county and Chongzuo's Daxin county, to form two aviation "passages" running east to west and north to south.
A development pattern for Guangxi's general aviation with 41 general airports will be established, with the region's capital, Nanning, at its core.
The utilization rate of airspace resources under 3,000 meters will be further increased to set up an efficient low-altitude flight network. Three to four regular sightseeing flights are being planned at tourist attractions such as Guilin, Beihai and Baise.
Flights connecting Guangxi cities and destinations outside the region will also be launched, including one between Wuzhou and Guangdong's Guangzhou, one between Beihai and Hainan's Haikou, and one between Baise and Yunnan's Kunming.
